A young man on the streets of New York. To his left, a hand-drawn squiggle of charcoal drawing. The graphic lines of the drawing reflect the lines created by the veins of his arm and his thinly cut beard. Elsewhere in the mural, other linear elements appear as well, as in the drawings of the two faces at the top-center. All of these in turn call our attention to similar graphic in many of the other photographic components -- e.g., the water spray lines of the fountain .
