The people of New York.  The vibrancy, vitality of the city and its people. Life is full, life is rich.  Life outlasts us.

At several locations in the mural, sound emanates from behind the mural wall. As we approach the wall, we hear street sounds combined with muttered prayers and poems, spoken in several languages. Here, the sounds of New York City are mixed with an incantatory prayer by the Persian mystical poet, Rumi.. Our spiritual aspirations are shared by people from all cultures, across epochs. Rumi lived and wrote in Persia, present day Iran, during the 15th century.
