A pond with goldfish. The fish are oblivious to the devastation. From the point of view of Nature, all of this is normal – the fish, the smoke, the death, the life.

(A personal note: When I arrived at my home, which was about two miles from the World Trade Towers, on the afternoon of the event, the plants of this fish pond in my backyard were covered with a layer of gray ash from the burning Trade Towers.)
